It didn’t take long for him to arrive at the bar, after a moment of forgetting which way was close to where the blanket was. He noticed from a distant that Alfred was there and hesitated walking closer. Arthur’s heart beat picked up speed as he thought of walking away; it would be too easy to turn around and leave. However, Alfred had suggested this spot, maybe he wanted to talk?
He didn’t want to disappoint–was that the right word?–him by not showing up. Sighing, he sucked in a breath and came to the bar. “I didn’t think you would be here.”
Alfred glanced up when he heard the other speak, blinking a few times to make sure that he wasn’t imagining it. He honestly didn’t think that Arthur was going to show up, or at least not until he was long gone, but his gaze only lasted for a moment before it went back down to his game. ‘Of course now would be a raining level…’
“I didn’t think I was going to be here either. I pegged that you’d get lost or would take forever,” he shrugged, tone unidentifiable. “Besides you texted me first so what does that say about you?”
